Holiday Special @ £100 per cottage pro rata for short breaks ( 6 hours anytime Monday to Friday access )

Our spa area tries to replicate the relaxation facilities that the Roman soldiers on the Antonine Wall would have enjoyed some 2000 years ago. Overlooking the actual Antonine Wall and in complete privacy it offers the ultimate in relaxation, exercise and fun!

For £100  you can enjoy 6 hours private use of:

  • heated swimming pool open all year and heated every day and night to 28C/32C
  • hot tub
  • sauna
  • outdoor kitchen, indoor and outdoor seating areas, barbeques, wine chiller, dishwasher, glasses, plates etc
  • party room seating up to 25
  • lots of garden games - croquet, ludo, jengo etc

Remember this area is not shared, you and your family and/or friends can enjoy all of the above in complete privacy! Maybe you would like to enjoy an hour of serious swimming in the morning before breakfast - and before children wake up! Or what about teaching your child to swim in our heated pool or share some water games with them in the afternoon then watch the sun set in the hot tub with as glass of wine! Or enjoy breakfast overlooking the pool, have a barbie sweat off some excess holiday beer in the sauna, invite family and friends round... the possibilities are numerous!

Please note that there are additional charges for invited guests not staying in the cottage with you, these charges are £10 per guest using the facilities.

                        

 

                                            

Spa Area by the hour @ £25

  • 1 hour use for everyone in your cottage maybe just to try it out

 

Hot Tub @ £55 for one cuddly session for 2

  • unlimited private use of hot tub
  • robes and slippers
  • bottle of wine or champagne as preferred

  • sauna oils and hot tub bubble bath
  • candles, fairy lights and music
  • babysitting available - £5 per hour
  • pool and sauna can be added for £10 each

 

Babysitting
  • babysitting in your own cottage perhaps when you have dinner in the glenskirlie (best restaurant in Scotland 2003 and 2005, 10 minutes drive from our cottages) @ £5 per hour .
  • babysitting in our house when you enjoy an adult day in Edinburgh or Glasgow for example @ £5 per hour per child to include all meals.

All babysitting will be supervised by myself and I have an advanced disclosure from Disclosure Scotland through working in local playgroups - I also have 4 children of my own! Babysitting must be booked in advance.

 

Dog sitting

  • We are happy to dog sit for you while you enjoy a canine free day in Edinburgh or Glasgow or want to undertake a long drive up North perhaps .
  • We don't charge for a couple of hours however all day dog sitting will attract a nominal charge of £10
  • Dogs left with us must be very friendly and excellent with children

Daily Breakfast Packs @ £6 per person per day (min 4 persons)

  • Loaf of home made bread
  • Fresh milk from the local farm
  • Free range eggs
  • Bacon or sausages from the local butcher
  • Scottish butter
  • Small packs of Cornflakes or home made muesli
  • Pot of jam

 

Home-made bread daily @ £2 a day

 

Roman Dinners @ £35 with wine or £28 without wine per person

We are delighted to be able to offer you a Roman themed dinner during your stay with us. The dinner consists of

  • pre dinner sherry or Scottish whisky and nibbles served in your cottage
  • a 4 course Roman themed dinner with unlimited wine and water
  • port, coffee and dates and figs served in your lounge after dinner with an opportunity to chat with your hosts about Roman food and life in general in Roman times.
  • all dishes and tidying up done by us!

All recipes are genuine Roman recipes and are truly delicious. Vegetarians and vegans can easily be accommodated. Alcohol substitutions catered for, no need to give up that gin and tonic!

Dinners are for adults only - children over 12 accepted if they will be interested in eating Roman foods. Costs are £35 per person including all drinks. £28 without wine or other alcohol drinks .A minimum of 4 persons are required.

Celebration Dinner for 2 @ £70

  • Selection of canapés
  • Beef Wellington with organic fillet steak
  • Mashed sweet potatoes
  • Cauliflower cheese
  • Peas with lettuce and caramelised onions
  • Gingered ice cream with hot chocolate sauce
  • Bottle of wine

Friday Picnic 6pm @ £5 children £20 adults

  • Weather permitting June, July and August
  • On the Antonine Wall, 5 minutes easy walk
  • Children's introduction to the history of the area, have fun on the lilia, game of rounder's, pond skimming for boatmen and fishing for minnows
  • Sumptuous picnic of at least 8 courses with no spam sarnies in sight! Examples include smoked salmon blinins, pork and cranberry pies, thai fish cakes, mustard glazed ham on home made bread, free range egg quiche, home made shortbread, home made chocolate cake with strawberries
  • Wine and coffee for adults, fresh smoothies for kids, water for all!

Antonine Wall Walk - no charge

  • My husband Dave who is an part-time ancient historian with a specialty in Roman History is happy to offer Sunday morning walks along the Antonine Wall 11am to 12noon, usually accompanied by our cats! Find out what the lilia were used for, enjoy views of the Ochils and hear all about the Romans in Scotland. Children warmly welcomed. Must be booked in advance.

Box of Toys - no charge

  • Let us know the age of your child/children and we will put a large box of suitable games, toys and books in the cottage waiting for your arrival. You have no idea how easy this makes unloading the car!. You must let us know in advance on the booking form.

Birthday cake - no charge

  • Let me know its your - or one of your families/groups birthday while you are staying with us and I'll make you a delicious chocolate cake and provide the candles!

Honeymoon special - no charge

  • If it is your honeymoon please tell us and we'll arrange a wonderful " cuddle in the hot tub" for you one evening with a bottle of champagne
